Two people were killed and 12 others injured in a bus crash in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred around 10 am near Hiranyakandi Sampan Highway Restaurant on the Dhaka-Khulna highway.

Azizul Haque Rajan, station manager of Bhatiapara Fire Service confirmed the matter.

The Tungipara Express bus collided with the rear of a Khulna-bound Sohag Paribahan bus and then hit a tree, he added. 

The deceased were identified as Montu Sheikh, 55, the bus driver, and Arif Hossain, the supervisor.

The injured were rushed to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex, where the two victims were declared dead.
