Police in Chattogram’s Pahartali area arrested a man with two locally made firearms early Wednesday night. 

The suspect, Md. Belal Hossain, 35, was detained in front of Haji Camp around 12:30 AM during a police operation.

Belal Hossain is the son of the late Alamgir Hossain Babul from Middle Shilua Chowddi Bari under Chhagalnaiya Police Station in Feni district.

According to Pahartali Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Mujibur Rahman, officers set up a checkpoint on the paved road near Haji Camp and conducted searches. During the operation, they found two homemade firearms (LGs) inside a market bag and arrested Belal Hossain.

Legal action is underway against him, he said.
