Fakhrul vows to restore democracy, stability

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has pledged to protect the country’s independence, sovereignty, stability, and democratic system at any cost.

He made the commitment on Tuesday (Feb 25) while addressing a discussion at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the capital, marking National Martyred Army Day.

Mirza Fakhrul accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of conspiring from Delhi to create chaos in Bangladesh.

He said the fall of what he called the "fascist Hasina regime" had provided an opportunity to rebuild the nation, but efforts were underway to destroy that chance.

Criticizing the interim government, Fakhrul said democracy must be restored to ensure stability.

He also urged Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus to lead the interim government with a firm and neutral stance, ensuring a fair election process through necessary reforms.
