Anisul, Inu and Menon remanded in fresh cases

A Dhaka court has placed former ministers Anisul Huq, Hasanul Haque Inu, Rashed Khan Menon, Dipankar Talukder, and Faruk Khan on fresh remand in separate cases.

Moreover, Benazir Hossain, Joint General Secretary of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League’s Central Committee, has been remanded in a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act filed with Shahbagh Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MA Azharul Islam granted the remand after police requested it for cases filed at different DMP stations.

Awami League leader Faruk Khan, JSD president Hasanul Haq Inu, and Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon were also placed on five-day remand for allegedly attacking BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade in 2015.

Besides, former state minister Dipankar Talukder was remanded for seven days over the murder of Jubo Dal leader Shamim in Paltan, while Bangladesh Chhatra League leader Benazir Hossain was remanded in an anti-terrorism case.
