There will be no shortage of soybean oil in the market during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, said Interim Government’s Religious Affairs Adviser A F M Khalid Hossain.
Speaking to reporters after a seminar organized by the Islamic Foundation at the Sylhet Divisional Commissioner’s office on Wednesday (February 26), he said that in many countries, commodity prices drop during Ramadan, but in Bangladesh, they often rise due to syndicates.
He assured that strict monitoring and mobile courts would be conducted to prevent price hikes. He also urged traders to keep essential goods affordable for the public during Ramadan.
