The names of Bangabandhu Bridge over the Jamuna River and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel under the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram have been changed.

The Bridges Division issued a gazette notification on Wednesday (Feb 26) announcing the new names. 

According to the notification, Bangabandhu Bridge will now be called "Jamuna Bridge," while Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel has been renamed "Karnaphuli Tunnel."

Both structures were built under the Bangladesh Bridge Authority, which operates under the Bridges Division.
