BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today (February 22) called on democratic forces to work sincerely in creating a sustainable and livable Bangladesh for future generations.
Speaking at a discussion at the National Press Club, marking the posthumous Ekushey Padak award for late journalist Mahfuz Ullah, Fakhrul highlighted the long struggle against fascism and expressed hope for the country’s future.
"A ray of hope has emerged among us. We must all be more sincere in rebuilding Bangladesh. We need to work together to create a sustainable and livable Bangladesh for the generations to come," Fakhrul said.
He praised Mahfuz Ullah’s efforts in advocating for social change, people’s rights, and uniting political parties against Sheikh Hasina’s autocratic regime.
Fakhrul welcomed the state’s recognition of Mahfuz Ullah’s contributions with the Ekushey Padak.
