Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested six individuals in connection with the shooting and robbery of a gold trader in the capital’s Banasree area last month.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations), Muhammad Talebur Rahman, confirmed today that a team from the Detective Branch (DB) of police apprehended the suspects and recovered both the looted gold and illegal firearms from them.
The robbery occurred on the night of February 23 at around 10:30 pm when Anwar Hossain, a jewelry businessman, was ambushed just before entering his house on Road No. 7 in Banasree’s D Block. He was shot and later admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.
Following the incident, Anwar filed a case at the Rampura Police Station, leading to the arrests and recovery. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
