The Election Commission (EC) has published the final voter list for 2024, announcing a total of 123,732,274 registered voters.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin revealed the numbers on Sunday during the inauguration of National Voter Day at the Election Building in Agargaon.
This year’s theme, "In our Bangladesh, we will vote together," highlights inclusivity. The EC has arranged a discussion session, while field-level offices are hosting various programs to mark the day.
According to ASM Humayun Kabir, director general of the NID registration division, National Voter Day is observed annually on March 2, coinciding with the final voter list’s release.
The draft voter list, published on January 2, initially recorded 123,683,512 voters, including 1,833,352 new ones. After resolving claims and objections, the final tally now exceeds 123.7 million.
Of the total voters, 63,330,103 are male, 60,352,415 are female, and 994 are hijra voters.
