Devotees throng Ijtema ground for Akheri Munajat

The first phase of Biswa Ijtema is set to conclude this morning (Feb 2) with the Akheri Munajat along the banks of the Turag River in Tongi.

Since 4:00 am, Muslims from across the country have been arriving at the Ijtema ground to participate in the final prayer.

Maulana Kefayet Ullah, the senior cleric of Shura-e-Nezami, announced that the prayer would commence at 9:00 am.

The Akheri Munajat will be led by Maulana Zubair, the chief cleric of Shuray-e-Nezam in Bangladesh.

From the early hours of the day, devotees have been traveling to the Ijtema ground via the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, with many walking the 10-kilometer stretch from Bhogra bypass to the congregation site.
