As many as 475 people were killed and 815 others injured in 452 road accidents across the country in October this year, according to a report of Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity.

Besides, 76 people were killed and 24 injured in 63 railway accidents while 24 people were killed and 36 injured in 19 waterway accidents, it said.

During the same period, 138 motorcycle accidents resulted in 163 deaths and 239 injuries, accounting for 30.53% of total accidents, 34.31% of fatalities, and 29.32% of injuries.

The report was released on Saturday in a press statement signed by the association's secretary general Md Mozammel Haque Chowdhury.
