The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported five new dengue cases in the 24 hours before Friday morning, bringing the total to 1,589 cases in this year.

The new cases are from different areas: one in Barishal, one in Khulna, one in Chattogram, one in Dhaka South, and one in Dhaka North.

The number of deaths remains at 13, with no new fatalities reported.

Currently, 56 dengue patients are being treated in hospitals across the country.

Last year, dengue caused 575 deaths, with 101,214 reported cases and 100,040 recoveries. 

The DGHS continues to monitor the situation closely and has urged the public to take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.
