Barisal: Two youths were killed as a speeding truck rammed into their motorcycle on the Barisal-Patuakhali road in Rupatoli Gas Turbine area in the small hours of the day Saturday.

Police and witnesses said the truck knocked the bike coming from opposite direction at about 00:30am, killing both the bike riders instantly.

They are Mehedi, 26, son of Rustom Ali Howlader, and Shipon, 25, son of Khaleq Khan.

“Angry at the accident for rash driving of the lorry, local people barricaded the road,” says a spot report.
 
The roadblocks were later removed by police intervention.

SI Kamolesh of Kotwali Model Thana said police seized the killer truck, abandoned by the driver after the fatal accident.
