Israeli airstrikes targeted residential structures in northern Gaza, resulting in what Palestinian officials have described as "brutal massacres." 

According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, 84 people, including over 50 children, perished in these attacks. 

The strikes come as part of a sustained military campaign that has been ongoing since the conflict reignited in early October 2023.

Simultaneously, Israeli air raids across Lebanon have claimed dozens of lives, with the Lebanese Health Ministry reporting over 2,800 fatalities since the conflict's inception, including 30 deaths within the past day. 

Civilian infrastructure has been significantly impacted, deepening the humanitarian crisis in the region.

Amid this upheaval, the United States has announced plans to bolster its military presence in the Middle East. This strategic move involves deploying warships, fighter jets, and long-range bombers to the area, signaling heightened concerns about regional stability and the potential for broader conflict.

Humanitarian challenges are exacerbated by these attacks. Aid groups have struggled to resume a mass polio vaccination campaign in Gaza due to the siege and displacement affecting much of northern Gaza’s population. This interruption poses a severe health risk for children and vulnerable communities already enduring dire conditions.

Since October 7, 2023, when the current wave of violence began with a coordinated assault by Hamas that left over 1,100 Israelis dead and more than 200 captured, Israel’s retaliatory actions have reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 43,000 Palestinians and injuries surpassing 100,000.
