Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute (BEHRI) carried out free surgery on 40 needy patients at its modern operation theater on Thursday (Aug 22).

BEHRI honourary Prof Dr Md Saleh, Dr. Anthony Albert, Dr. Moutushi Islam, Dr. Tasruba Shanaz took part in the operations at the BEHRI at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital today.

Some 45 patients received eye surgery, among them 13 men and 27 women patients.

Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute, Vision Care Foundation, and Local medical support center of Chapainawabganj district jointly organised the free eye camp.

General Secretary of Chapainawabganj based voluntary organization medical aid center Aminul Islam told Banglanews, “We have been working together with Bashundhara since 2019. So far about 8000 patients have been given general eye treatment through eye camp. every year we do two camps. Bashundhara Eye Hospital offers comprehensive support that cannot be found anywhere else.”

Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute started treatment services in April 2014 through modern medical equipment and investigations while more tertiary eye treatments are now being given here by using modern operation theater.
