Prominent actor Masum Aziz has been put on life support at a hospital in the capital.

The Ekushey Padak winning actor was given life support at Square Hospital as his condition deteriorated, Sommilito Sangskritik Jote President Golam Quddus said.

He requested everyone to pray for his quick recovery.

Masum Aziz is also known as a playwright and who has worked on stage, TV dramas and films simultaneously. He first appeared on a TV drama back in 1985 and has, till now, appeared in more than 400 dramas.

The veteran actor was honoured with the National film Award in the best supporting actor category in 2006 for his oustanding performance in Ghani.

Masum Aziz received Ekushey Padak in 2022.
