DHAKA: Suffering from a respiratory tract infection, veteran actress Suchitra Sen`s health turned critical, doctors attending to her said.

Doctors said that the condition of the 82-year-old actress, admitted to a super-specialty hospital since December 23, is fluctuating.

According to the doctors, her condition worsened last night.

Chief minister Mamata Banerjee reportedly rushed to the hospital to meet the veteran actress. She almost spent an hour at the hospital.

She was stated to be in a stable condition over the last few days but her old-age has complicated the matter and the doctors are being cautious due to diabetes.
