JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Anwar Hossain has declared the possible date of the election of vice-chancellor panel and JU Chhatra Sangsad.

The disclosure came from a press conference at University Administrative Building on Thursday morning.

He told journalists that the VC panel election would be held by January 24 and JU Chhatra Sangsad election on December 6.

He also said, “The initiative will be taken soon to withdraw the stay order passed by the High Court on registered graduate election for senate and then the election schedule will be declared.”

Professor Anwar Hossain also said that other elections will be held gradually.

He added: “Before national election, reconstructed senate will elect panel members for vice-chancellor where he would not participate.”

Among others, the press meet was attended by Pro-vice chancellor (education) professor MA Matin, Pro-vice chancellor (administration) Professor Afsar Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Abul Khayer, Registrar Abu Bakar Siddik.
