DHAKA: The agitated students of Jagannath University, under the banner of Chhatra Sangram Parishad, declared a fresh demonstration for Tuesday on a demand of regaining student halls.

FM Shariful Islam, the convener of the Chhatra Sangram Parishad, also President of JnU unit Chhatra League, has announced the protest program at Central Shaheed Minar on Sunday noon.

He also demanded for withdrawal of the expulsion order against member secretary of Chhatra Sangram Parishad, also BCL general secretary and cases against him.

Earlier in the morning, the students of the JnU held a rally at central Shaheed Minar premises to realize their demands of rescuing illegally occupied dormitory, establishing new hall and developing infrastructure of the campus.

Additional police forces were deployed in the area to avert untoward situations.
